Behind the success of Almuftah Group is sheer hardwork,
dedication and a commitment to provide quality products and service
to its customers. This has always been the motto of Almuftah Group
ever since its inception when it made a humble but ambitious
beginning in the year 1963.
Five years later in 1968, Almuftah Group set up a showroom on the
Airport Road for Tyres and related products. Today TOYO tyres hold
a major share in the market.
And the Group never looked back, thanks to the vision, policies,
dedication and determination of the management with the support of a
team of dedicated Staff.
The rest is history. Indeed a story of success.
The Management decided to diversify to keep pace with the
changing times. The result - Almuftah Group's first entry into the
challenging field of Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances in the
year 1971.
The Group generated a wave of revolution in Consumer Electronics,
hitherto unknown to many customers in the country by introducing
world famous products from the Japanese multinational electronics
giants, SHARP, MAXELL, CLARION... The growing demands for these
electronics products and household appliances prompted the
Management to start a modern service centre to meet the after sale
service requirements of our valued customers.
Having laid a solid foundation in business, Almuftah group began
to spread its wings in the business horizon and grew from strength
to strength.
A division for car hire, professional transportation and general
service, furniture industry and interior Decorations... all these
were added to the Almuftah business in early 1975.
The Group also participated actively in the progress and
development of the country by playing a constructive role in the
construction field. The construction division was set up in 1975 and
the division backed by a highly skilled staff, successfully executed
several projects. The Group made its entry into Fiberglass
manufacturing in 1976 and carved a niche by introducing latest
Fiberglass products ranging from Water Tanks to Custom Built
Furniture, Fishing/ Pleasure Boats, Wall Paneling and Roofing etc.
Today Almuftah Fiberglass is a household name in Qatar.
Catering Industry was another milestone in the success story of
Almuftah Group. The Group is identified in this field through the
Sterling Fast Foods, launched in 1977. ##### Caravan Restaurant, the
finest rendezvous in the city, a chain of Pizza Huts. Taco Bell, the
first Mexican food joint in Doha, Shebastan an exclusive Iranian
Restaurant, American Fried Chicken, Macburgers, TCBY Yogurt and not
to forget the latest additions ARBYS, Ponderosa, Al Tazaj,
Fuddrucker, Bukhara Bennigans etc.
As a part of its diversification strategy the Group ventured into
business such as textiles, travel and tourism, chain of video
libraries, recorded cassettes, bakery, landscaping, to mention a
few.
In 1987, Almuftah Group realised one of its long cherished dreams
of opening a sophisticated department store and Jewellery showroom
with international standards selling superior quality durables and a
wide range of exquisite and exotic jewellery from different parts of
the world.
For our valued customers, the store is fashion and style at their
doorstep.
Keeping pace with the developments in Qatar, the Projects &
Industrial Services division was established in 1988 with a view to
meeting the demands of many new projects, especially in the areas of
Oil & Gas and industry in the State of Qatar. This is undoubtedly
one of the Group's major ventures.
Intensifying its manufacturing activities the Group established
an Industrial Marble factory in 1990 using latest American
Technology to manufacture a wide variety of Cultured Marbles and
Onyx products. Following this, the Group also established a unit for
making Mattress as a part of its diversification programme.
Recognizing the need for an Educational Institution to serve both
the local and the international communities, Almuftah set up the
English Modern School, based on the British Curriculum of studies.
The school is considered as one of the best institutions by
educationists and experts.
In early 1994 a GRC & Gypsum moulded products factory was
established to service the growing demand for high quality
decoration in construction and housing projects and produce a range
of standard products to supplement the furniture showroom's retail
activities.
The latest business venture of Almuftah Group is its Real Estate
Development Division. The Group is now busy putting finishing
touches to yet another ambitious project - ATRIUM DESIGN, an
exclusive showroom for luxury residential furniture and fabrics
catering for customers with very rich taste and high expectations
In 1998 foreseeing the demand and requirement in marketing,
advertising and web designing, a new division DESIGN & CONCEPT was
opened, followed by opening of Almuftah TRAVEL & TOURS in 1999 to
meet the needs in Travel Industry.
Now in the 21st century, with the advent and development of Internet
and E- commerce , Almuftah in the near is looking to conduct
business via the NET.
