The first Leonidas outlet in
the state of Qatar at city center is open to sell different varieties
of Belgium chocolates. Below is a short background about Leonidas
Company.
LEONIDAS, Internationally renowned Belgian pralines since
1913.
LEONIDAS, a Greek first name for a Belgian company.
The young Leonidas Kestekides, a confectioner established in the
USA since the beginning of the century, participated as a member of
the US Greek delegation in the Brussels World Fair of 1910 andthe
Ghent International Exhibition of 1913.
He received respectively the bronze and the gold medals for his
chocolate confectionery and his cakes.
Add to this professional recognition a love at first sight for a
ravishing Brussels beauty and Leonidas settled in Belgium for good.
He opened tearooms in Brussels, Ghent and Blankenberge.
In 1935 his nephew Basile Kestekides took over and associated his
art with the portrait of the king of Sparta, Leonidas, as a tribute to
his uncle.
In his workshop at Marche Aux Grains in Brussels, he created all
kinds of new pralines under the slogan "Freshness- Choice- Quality".
The founder's dream-perpetuated by his successors- was to make
Belgian pralines affordable by all, without deviating from the
requirements of a top quality product.
The LEONIDAS" Manon" praline was a perfect illustration of this
democratic intention. In 1970, LEONIDAS was incorporated as a limited
company. The modest praline workshop has made its way: the family
company refines and creates its recipes for customers all over the
world.
In 1983 and 1993,LEONIDAS started up two new plants to meet the
demand of its ever more numerous faithful customers.
In 2000, LEONIDAS acquired the Deva Plant in Slovakia.
Nowadays, fans and connoisseurs alike enjoy the Belgian LEONIDAS
pralines all over the five continents
LEONIDAS products are available in 2000 sales outlets, from Paris
to Rome, from Sydney to Tokyo, from Brussels to New York........ |
